The Chuck goes all psyops on McCain and Palin

So The Chuck steps away from the hard numbers and does a little psychoanalysis of the GOP ticket. Compelling stuff. It almost looks as if Brian Williams is the tense one with the buckets of behind-the-scenes scoop The Chuck's imparting. Then again, it doesn't take Freud to say McCain looks like he's going to pull a "Bulworth".

Indeed.

I have to admit though that Chuck's quasi-editorializing was somewhat surprising. Usually, The Chuck has lots of data analysis under his belt, but it's rare that he whips out some real character/candidate analysis.

Meet The Press, watch out!

I think Chuck's quasi-editorializing is his frail attempt to LEAD VOTERS to conclusions about the chemistry between McCain and Palin ...conclusions that don't add up!
I didn't draw the same conclusion at "The Chuck" and I think Chuck drew that conclusion while fraternizing with the Democrats after the interview! Where is the 'fair and balanced' review we have come to 'expect' from NBC/MSNBC?

After all Sarah Palin has more 'experience' than the #1 name on the Democratic ticket, Barac Obama. The many statements to the contrary by your news group merely solidify that point in my mind/opinion. She comes off as "Trustworthy" and capable of making decisions on the world scene as well as refreshingly HONEST!

While John McCain would not be my first choice for a presidential candidate, neither would Barac Obama be my first choice. But between the two candidates we have, McCain is indeed the 'only' choice for president of America. I'm not sure what our nation would be under Barac Obama's socialistic agenda!

i'm an independent voter, a grandma, and i will cast my vote for the most 'trustworthy' of the choice of candidates and invite you to do the same: McCain & Palin!

Barack has a "k" on the end. Just thought that since the previous comment was so informed about the candidates, they would already know that.

Well said, Anna Banana!

ooh the "S" word! I am not sure how much more socialistic you can get since the banks have been nationalized. AND we have redistributed the wealth for a loong time now. That's what we do!

I LOVED The Chuck's analysis/psychoanalysis. He's still The Man when it comes to the hard numbers though!

Let's be absolutely clear here. NBC/MSNBC is NOT Fox News. "Fair and Balanced" doesn't even play into it. The Chuck went out on a limb and gave his impression. We know he is not a psychologist, nor a mind reader, but he felt it was necessary to give his thoughts.

Which turned out to be wrong, and he said so on First Read. But since no one seemed to notice that this morning, it lead to certain posts.

I feel for you Anonymous. The field didn't shape up quite like I wanted it to either. I actually wanted to vote for John McCain, but someone dressed in a McCain suit showed up in his place. It was good for laughs, but now I guess it's time to move on.

I'm not sure where socialism came into the campaign. Barack Obama is hardly Upton Sinclair. I assume since you hate socialism, you will not be partaking in either the Social Security nor the Medicare programs. You wouldn't want to encourage the government into thinking they were actually a good idea. I'll get going on trying to get the Clean Food and Drug Act repealed, and gosh darn it, there's more than 40 hours in a week, so we should be working more. Not only that but my 9 year old could quit school and go to work at a chemical weapons factory and bring home a good solid $5.00 paycheck... which I'll be taking for rent. Down with socialist agendas!

poor chuck...i saw that editorializing live and was thinking, 'what the heck is he doing?' but it takes a strong man to admit when he was wrong...he deserves even more respect than ever!

Has Chuck been benched because of these remarks??? Any insight?

I doubt it. He was with Brian WIlliams earlier in the week. However, we have seen more Mark Murray the last few days. Perhaps, NBC/MSNBC is trying to put Mark up front because they may be moving Chuck up to MTP, and he may not have as much time to do First Read. Just speculation.

If they do bench The Chuck, I will wish a plague upon their house!

Did you see THE CHUCK being parodied on SNL?????? Best parody ever!!

Yeah. However, think it was more John King of CNN being parodied. The Chuck's surface is a tabletop, as opposed to a wall projection, like CNN has.

Anyone else notice that the anonymous grandma said she will vote for the most 'trustworthy'?

Well, with comments of "Palin is a diva" and "a whack job", it would appear as if The Chuck was pretty spot-on with his observation that there's tension.
